Unless you were mechanized I always thought the Infantry was jealous of Mp’s because we had vehicles. CS units were more fun for me after around two years in when I got tired of playing make believe police. But that was just me.

I think the really hardcore 11B types .. the ones that wanted to be in the 82nd or a Ranger Bn, did not think that way. But the guys that were in it for 3 years and done and ended up 11B instead of 11M were definitely jealous of MP’s and Scouts

Well, all I’ve got to say from my USAFA ‘76 days is: if God had wanted man to be in the Army, He’d have issued him green, baggy skin.

That was pretty good!

As a infantry Marine for 32 years I learned you never use Marine infantry and stupid in the same sentence as it’s redundant…

“Listen to the pitter patter of the tiny tiny feet;

Sounds like army infantry in a full retreat”… SF

Why do tankers call infantry “crunchies” …. What sound do they make under our tracks?

William Kinney's avatar

Yes. I learned that term at jump school…”legs” the other term used for non airborne infantry…

A little darker, we also called ‘em “track grease”
