VA Secretary Prevents Woke Agenda
For now, anyway, cause it's an election year after all
The Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Operations of the Department of Veterans Affairs, a lady named RimaAnn Nelson, decided to forbid the display of the iconic VJ Day Kiss in Times Square.
This one
Why? Weaccording to the Woke Crowd it was non-consensual and therefore an act of sexual assault and probably more white supremacy and colonizing and settler behavior, for all I know. It is true that the sailor did not ask the lady before kissing her, but all the evidence says that it was not sexual assault. This is just more of the same thinking that declares “Baby Please Don’t Go” to be unacceptable because the man is trying to coerce the woman in the song to stay.
Wokeness For All To See
In her memo declaring that we Veterans cannot celebrate the end of World War 2 the way that we always have, Ms. Nelson said:
“The photograph, which depicts a non-consensual act, is inconsistent with the VA’s no-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment and assault."
The memo later says: "To foster a more trauma-informed environment that promotes the psychological safety of our employees and the veterans we serve, photographs depicting the ‘V-J Day in Times Square’ should be removed from all Veterans Health Administration facilities.”
VA Secretary Overrules Woke Crazy Lady
She was quickly overruled by the Veterans Affairs Secretary, thankfully. But it should never have come to that. Undoing long standing symbols of the sacrifice and triumph of our Warriors in the name of your woke agenda is simply unacceptable. You have to wonder if the Secretary would have over turned this insanity in a year with no Presidential election, though.
Oddly, it turns out that ASSISTANT Under Secretary Nelson has her own scandalous past. Before taking over the Phoenix VA system, she was in St. Louis where about 1,800 patients were potentially exposed to HIV at a St. Louis VA hospital under Nelson's leadership. Oooops.
Here's her memo, for your reading enjoyment. I say we spread this far and wide. Please share, copy, restack, comment: whatever floats your boat.
