Glad I moved out of CT. When I moved up to CT from the People's Republic of NYC in 2006 CT was still a breathe of fresh air. Local town govt was responsive, and in fact I was elected and served a 2 year term in my town's RTM (it's legislature) at time when it was still Republican-controlled. My town then voted 74% Biden in the 2020 election, swept Dems into a super majority at the local and state level, and things only got worse as Covid hit Fairfield county and we were flooded with people moving up from NY. The entire character of half the state and politics changed... and to the left and getting lefter. I loved where we lived - except for the ticks, both insectoid and human. But as with NYC I'd never move back. And that makes me rather sad. I was a northeasterner. But since 2021 I'm a happy southerner in a free state. I love my freedom more.
That’s like me when I left CA in 2006 for WA state. Except for Seattle, the state was a huge breath of fresh are. Now? I’m on the verge of leaving the state. I’m a Westerner, born and bred. I love the West of the United States. But the communists have destroyed most of it.

Add in Colorado and Oregon. Oregon did it by referendum which is even more disturbing.
